Acupuncture Safety

1. Before Your Session (Preparation)Do Not Fast: Eat a light meal 1 to 2 hours prior to avoid dizziness or low blood sugar during treatment.

Avoid Stimulants: Do not consume alcohol or caffeine, as they alter your pulse and mask true symptoms.

Wear Loose Clothing: Choose flexible attire so core points on your limbs and back can be easily accessed.

Disclose Health Details: Inform me immediately if you are pregnant, take blood thinners, or have a cardiac pacemaker.

2. During Your Treatment (Sensation & Communication)

Expect the "De Qi" Sensation: You will naturally feel a deep, heavy ache or tingling, which shows the point is activated.

Report Sharp Pain Immediately: Tell me right away if you feel a sharp or stinging pinch so I can adjust the needle.

Stay Completely Still: Remain relaxed and still while needles are retained to prevent any temporary muscle cramping.

Active Motion Protocol: Perform only the slow, guided exercises I explicitly show you during our specialized movement therapy.

3. After Your Session (Post-Treatment Care)

Rest and Hydrate: Drink warm water right after treatment to help your body flush out released metabolic toxins.

Avoid Intense Activities: Skip strenuous workouts and heavy lifting for 24 hours to let your nervous system integrate the healing.

Keep Treated Areas Protected: Avoid cold drafts and wait at least 2 to 4 hours before taking a warm shower.

Monitor Normal Responses: Expect mild, healthy detox signs like slight drowsiness or localized bruising that clear within 48 hours.
